Mark Desautels

Vice President, Wireless Internet Development

Mark Desautels joined CTIA in 1998 upon the merger of the Wireless Data Forum with CTIA in January 2001.  He oversees the activities of CTIA’s Wireless Internet Caucus (WIC), which focuses on issues affecting the development of the market for wireless data products and services.  He is also responsible for developing the educational programming and for speaker selection and management at CTIA’s industry trade shows, CTIA Wireless and CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment.
Prior to the merger, he served as President & CEO of the Wireless Data Forum.  Previously, he was the Assistant to the Director, Office of Intergovernmental Relations, Congressional Budget Office (CBO), where he was the agency press spokesperson and chief liaison officer.

Prior to joining CBO, Mr. Desautels was the Washington-based business and economics reporter for a chain of business news weeklies owned by Scripps-Howard, covering the telecommunications industry and other topics.  He also
covered Capitol Hill for Thomson Newspapers. 

Desautels has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College and a Masters of International Public Policy degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
