CTIA - The Wireless Association® Applauds Pending Nomination of Meredith Attwell Baker to the FCC

WASHINGTON, DC – CTIA - The Wireless Association® President and CEO Steve Largent issued the following statement today in response to President Obama’s announcement of his intention to nominate Meredith Attwell Baker as a Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC):

“On behalf of the wireless industry, I congratulate Meredith Attwell Baker on her pending nomination to serve as a Commissioner at the FCC.  Ms. Baker has an extensive background in telecommunications policy and understanding of the key issues affecting U.S. wireless consumers.  We believe the faith the President has shown in her is well founded and we know she is going to be a valuable addition to the Commission.  We look forward to working with Ms. Baker once she has been confirmed by the Senate.”
