International CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2009® Showcases Mobile Media & Applications

Vertical, business and consumer applications to be highlighted on keynote stage, exhibit floor and at partner conferences
 
WASHINGTON, DC – At this year’s International CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & ENTERTAINMENT 2009® tradeshow and conference, attendees from around the world will learn about the latest wireless developments – including health and energy applications, mobile application storefronts and new consumer offerings – and see products and services from a variety of exhibitors.  Applications spanning multiple industries will be highlighted on the show floor, in conference sessions and partner conferences.  CTIA WIRELESS IT & E takes place October 7-9 at the San Diego Convention Center.

“CTIA WIRELESS IT & E is the industry showcase for mobile applications, and the premier venue for demonstrating how the industry is monetizing those applications today,” said Robert Mesirow, Vice President and Show Director for CTIA.  “From health and wellness to entertainment, energy and the enterprise, CTIA will give attendees the opportunity to experience and purchase the latest mobile solutions.”

Mobile Apps and Developers Pavilions

This year’s event will feature both a Mobile Apps and Developers Pavilion, showcasing the latest mobile platforms and delivery solutions.  Participating companies include Enough Software; Ideavate Solutions; Impetus Technologies; Mob4Hire; MPLAYIT; Omega Mobile; Push Mobile Media; Smaato; Sonocaddie; STATS LLC; and The Sports Network.

CTIA Educational Sessions

This year, the CTIA Educational Sessions will include a Mobile Applications Track, where carriers, content owners, developers and marketing professionals will share insights on what is coming and examples of how they are leveraging mobile’s unique capabilities today.  In addition, the Mobile Media & Content Track will feature wireless carriers and content owners discussing strategies for engaging subscribers through content-based applications.

Partner Conferences and Seminars

In addition to the CTIA educational program, the show will host a number of partner conferences and seminars focused on application development, delivery and marketing.  The schedule will include:

Tuesday, October 6

  • Billboard Mobile Entertainment Live!, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Mobile Marketing & Advertising, produced by CTIA, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Mobile Web Strategies, produced by NextVision Media, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Wednesday, October 7

  • Mobile Retail Experience, produced by Global Retail Executive Council, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Thursday, October 8

  • Mobile Application Stores: Strategy & Development, produced by Futuretext, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • WIP Mobile Jam Session, produced by WIP Connector, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Motorola’s MOTODEV Summit

Developers are also encouraged to attend Motorola’s MOTODEV Summit 2009 on Tuesday, October 6 at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, a one-day training and networking event that will bring together today’s most creative and innovative application developers from around the world.  The Summit is designed to provide advanced tools, resources, and training for Android development to help developers get a head start in creating applications for the next generation of Motorola handsets.  For more information on the MOTODEV Summit, and to register, visit http://developer.motorola.com/summit.  MOTODEV Summit registration will open on August 17, 2009.
