WIRELESS I.T. Exhibitors Feature New Products & Services in the New Mobile Computing Industry

Expo & Educational Tracks Run Oct. 12-14, 1998 at Bally's Las Vegas

WASHINGTON, DC - You can stop into your local electronics or telecommunications retailer every day for the next year to find out what the hottest new products and services in the mobile computing area are. Or you can visit the exposition at WIRELESS I.T., the show focusing on the convergence of computing and wireless technologies, where 70 major companies and smaller upstarts will unveil their new products and services.

CTIA, the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association, hosts WIRELESS I.T. (Information Technologies) Convention and Expo Oct. 12-14, 1998 at Bally's Las Vegas. WIRELESS I.T. partners and sponsors include: Wireless Data Forum, Solutions Integrator, Microsoft, Andrew Seybold's Outlook, Inside Internet@Wireless, Nortel Networks, Lucent Technologies, and BellSouth Wireless Data.

The exposition hall will feature new offerings by companies who have established leadership in this new market: Microsoft, Lucent Technologies, Ericsson, BellSouth Wireless Data, AT&T Wireless Services, and IBM's Network Computing Software Division. But those major players will be augmented by companies emerging in the mobile computing marketplace: the newly merged Nortel/Bay Networks company, Nortel Networks, General Magic, Sierra Wireless, TruePosition, Z Square Telecom, Nettech Systems and more.

Aeris Communications (San Jose, California). Aeris Communications will showcase six wireless application developers with demonstrations: ABB Power T&D Company (automatic meter reading); Ademco Alarmnet (security and alarm monitoring); ATX Technologies (vehicle tracking); National Systems & Research (large equipment monitoring); Open Cellular Systems, Inc. Alpha Technologies, Inc. manufacturers communications DC power systems for central office, cellular, PBX, CPE, PCS, fiber optic and transmission applications. Antennas America Inc. (Wheat Ridge, Colorado). Antennas America Inc. will display: Combination GPS/cellular antennas for fleet applications, 2.45 GHz antennas for hand held data collection devices, 915 MHz and 2.45 GHz panel antennas, and newly developed antenna technologies for fixed and mobile RAM, cellular and GSM based data/telemetry systems. ASTRONET (Duluth, Georgia). ASTRONET Corporation, a Mitsubishi company, has a complete line of microcellular voice products such as the OffiCell? system, as well as products for wireless data including the Micro-MDBS? systems for CDPD applications and other multimedia equipment for cellular and PCS. AT&T Wireless Services (Kirkland, Washington). The Wireless Data Division of AT&T Wireless Services is a leader in the development and promotion of Wireless IP (CDPD).
