CTIA Statement on Utah Small Cell Infrastructure Bill .
“We commend Governor Gary Herbert, Senator Curt Bramble, Representative Timothy Hawkes and the Utah League of Cities and Towns on the passage of Senate Bill 189. This legislation will ensure residents of Utah receive the investment and benefits that 5G will bring to communities small and large. According to Accenture, in Salt Lake City alone the industry will invest $157 million to deploy 5G, creating more than 1,750 jobs and contributing $291 million in local economic growth. To win the global race to 5G, we need new rules for new networks, and we applaud Utah for taking that step with SB189.”
